Bridget – Office Manager and Financial Coordinator

Bridget has been our financial coordinator at Barras Family Dentistry since November 2014. In April 2016, she accepted the position of office manager. Bridget has extensive experience, and has worked in dentistry since 1995. She has worked to continue her dental education by becoming an expanded-duty dental assistant, maintaining her CPR certification, and taking several HIPAA, OSHA and management courses. Aside from her credentials, she also knows the value of great customer service and works with her team to achieve a positive experience with all patients.

Bridget feels blessed to be part of such a friendly, honest, and dedicated dental team that strives to provide patients with a high-tech, professional environment. Outside the office, she enjoys Lafayette and all it has to offer with her family. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for over 20 years. Incredibly active, she, along with her husband, helps support her daughter in band and makes sure she gets her son to soccer on time.

Amber – Receptionist and Hygiene Coordinator

Amber has been with Barras Family Dentistry since July 2016. She received her Dental Assisting Certification in 2006. Amber brings with her seven years of dental experience, five in the business area, and treats each patient with professional and passionate care. She likes being part of a practice in which she is able to fulfill her passion, and that shows patients compassion and strives to help maintain smiles and change lives.

When she isn’t at the office, Amber love spending time with her family. She is involved in her church, and her hobbies include baking, shopping, decorating, outdoor activities, and exercising.

Shawana – Dental Assistant

Shawana brings 18 years of experience as a dental assistant to Barras Family Dentistry. She joined the army soon after graduating from high school in 1998. There, she began dental assisting while taking continuing education courses in pediatric and oral surgery. She is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, and she is grateful to be part of a team that values both staff and patients alike. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters. In her spare time, she likes shopping, watching football, cooking, and doing yard work.

Regan – Receptionist and Dental Hygiene Assistant

Regan has been with Barras Family Dentistry for about a year. She is currently a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in Pre-Dental Hygiene, and has been given the amazing opportunity to work for the Barrases and gain experience in dentistry while waiting to be accepted into dental hygiene school. What she likes best about being part of this practice are all of her incredible coworkers. Regan feels that she learns new things every day, and her coworkers make her feel like part of the family.

Outside work, Regan loves to socialize with friends and family, spoil her fur babies, and travel.

Courtney – Registered Dental Hygienist

Courtney has been part of our team for over a year and a half. She graduated from LSUSD in 2013, and has since used her skills and knowledge to teach our patients about their oral health, especially the importance of preventive dentistry. Courtney loves the calm, family-oriented at Barras Family Dentistry. She spends her free time with her two-year-old lab, Maggie, or helping out at the Healing House.

Lyndi – Registered Dental Hygienist

Lyndi is a native to this Cajun country and is proud of it! She attended LSUE before being accepted into and graduating from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. She has been with Barras Family Dentistry since she moved to Lafayette in 2009. Lyndi is thrilled to be part of a team that offers such excellent, ethical, and comprehensive care. The best part of her job is thoroughly treating her patients and coordinating their treatments with the dentist. She cherishes the relationships she has formed with patients over the years, and looks forward to providing them with excellent care in the future. Outside of work, Lyndi is happily married with two beautiful children. She loves spending time with family and never tires of social gatherings.

Heather – Registered Dental Hygienist

Heather attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond for two years before being accepted into the LSU School of Dentistry dental hygiene program. She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in science, with a concentration in dental hygiene. She began working at Barras Family Dentistry as a dental hygienist in 2010.

Heather’s work allows her to do what she loves most: making a real difference in peoples’ lives. She is passionate about partnering with doctors to determine a treatment plan that will best benefit patients, and she feels honored to be part of a team that prioritizes patients.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters, and is an active member of the Teche Baptists Church in Breaux Bridge.

Renee – Insurance Coordinator

Renee joined Barras Family Dentistry in May 2013. She gathers insurance information, helping our patients to be informed of their benefits and ensuring that the cost estimates we provide will be as accurate as possible. She loves our doctors and staff, and looks forward to coming to work. As a part-time employee, she loves the flexibility of her schedule. Renee has been in the dental field since 1981, and plans to work here until she retires.

Renee and her husband, Tim, have one son, Luke. When not in our office, Renee enjoys camping with Tim, spending time with family and friends, and helping out at her church.

Marla – Dental Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator

Marla is an EDDA-certified dental assistant and has been working in the field of dentistry since 1993. She has excelled at Barras Family Dentistry for the last nine and a half years and was promoted to Patient Care Coordinator at the end of 2014. She enjoys building trust-based relationship with patients and is honored to be part of such a close-knit dental family.

Outside of work, Marla enjoys spending time with her husband of 21 years, and with her great friends and family.

Jessica – Dental Assistant

Jessica joined Barras Family Dentistry in May of 2016. She brings 6 years of experience as a dental assistant. Jessica feels very blessed to be part of a caring, passionate and dedicated team. Helping others feel comfortable and confident is what she enioys most about working in the field of dentistry. Outside of work Jessica loves spending time with family and spoiling her little girl.

Monette – Dental Assistant

Monette has 25-years of experience as a certified dental assistant. She has worked for Barras Family Dentistry since 2008. She is passionate about helping people maintain and/or restore a beautitul, white,T-ealthy smile and is dedicated to helping people. She is proud to be working for a practice with an exemplary work ethic, and when she is outside of the office she spends every moment she can with her family.

Alyce – Dental Assistant

Alyce has been with our team for 3 months. She completed her training as a dental assistant at Acadiana Area Career College, and works hard to make sure each patient that visits our office is comfortable and receiving the treatment they need. For Alyce, the best part of our practice is that everyone is friendly and willing to help at any time. Outside the office, Alyce enjoys spending time with her family, especially her son, her friends, and shopping.

Jenna — Dental Hygienist

Jenna, an Acadiana native, attended LSU in Baton Rouge for three years before moving to New Orleans for hygiene school in 2009. After graduating from dental school in 2011, she worked in New Orleans until moving to Acadiana in 2017. “I’m glad to be back in the 337 after being away for 11 years!,” she says. As a part of Barras Family Dentistry, Jenna’s ultimate goal is to make our patients happy. Outside of office hours, Jenna enjoys reading, traveling, and working out — she even teaches a barre workout class! She married her husband, John, in May 2017.
